Recognizing and Appreciating Life’s Gifts in Disguise
April 4, 2016 - April 6, 2016$1000
Every day things happen to us which are small gifts. Like finding something we have lost. And then there are big life gifts like surviving a major illness or accident. Like walking through recovery from a traumatic experience with grace and relief. Do we take the time to be grateful for these gifts or do we just move through them, anxious to resume everyday life? Do we brush aside the awareness of mortality, hurrying past? Of course, it’s always in the back of our minds that we slipped by disaster, made a narrow escape. In this workshop we will share stories of how we skipped forward with only a glance at the profound experience we had, trying to forget as soon as possible to avoid grief and fear. Now we have a chance to slow down, become more conscious of what is true and precious, of what we have received and what we have lost, appreciate more fully the richness of each moment with gratitude for the good, and grief for the pain, to allow healing to occur and to receive all the gifts in our lives.
